The rise in the number of crimes committed by educated school and college going students shows that an important purpose of education is not being met. We teach our children that they should be competitive, we teach them to be result oriented, we teach them to be “first” but we neglect to teach them that the result means nothing without a strong value system, self-discipline and good citizenship. Schools fail in their elementary duty if they do not do this.

Today many young people are brash and irresponsible, they have no qualms in hurting others, they form gangs for the purpose of holding society to ransom to their demands. This results in society feeling ashamed of its youth and the youth feeling miserable and misunderstood. Society suffers most when its strength, the youth turns antisocial.

Before focusing on academics schools need first to address strong values and discipline, guide the students from the beginning to learn to listen and follow instructions, to imbibe good values by example without using traditional forms of punishment and by building a strong value ethos in the school through adept counseling.

Lancers International School is truly International

It was a proud moment for Indians when US President Barak Obama exhorted American School children to shed their mediocrity and be more like school children in India and China. This idea that the Indians and the Chinese children take school education more seriously than their American counterparts is confirmed by Nandan Nilekani when he says in one of his articles “(The) India Story (lies) in its human capital, its people. They have realized very clearly that in order to make something of their lives they need education” Putting together these statements imply that education throughout the world is an important factor to globalization.

Lancers International School was conceived with the idea that there is an essential core to human endeavors that has no boundaries. Wherever we are in the world our basic values are the same and that for true international mindedness we need to understand how these values are expressed by different people. That is why we have collected here at LIS a British Advisor, American Principals, teachers & students from various countries who together with our Indian teachers and students will work to understand the strengths of our cultures and value systems.

At LIS we believe that Nature is the essence of humanity and our endeavor is to integrate each student with nature. We also believe that if we want to look into the future we must be well rooted in our past. The more we understand our own cultures the more open we are to the cultures of others and therefore true globalization.

Lancers International School has chosen to use the prestigious international systems of education from the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) for its Education Programmes. The Primary School will follow IBPYP, grades 6 to 10 CIE, IGCSE and Grades 11 & 12 may choose between IBDP and CIE AS/A2 levels. We have fully air conditioned buildings with spacious classrooms, well equipped science laboratories, ICT facilities, Art and Music rooms and the school library forms the central focus of the school. Our sports facilities include a covered Swimming Pool, games field, basket ball court and squash court. The 700 seat auditorium has all the facilities required for high class performance.

Our vision is to create a positive atmosphere where teachers, students and parents can all grow together to form an enlightened, international society.
